Profile
Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualification or equivalent practical experience (e.g. apprenticeship as tool mechanic, additional qualification)
Relevant multiyear technical expertise in toolmaking, fixture construction, development or production of mechanical components/systems or comparable experience
Outstanding knowledge in technology and manufacturing
Entrepreneurial mindset and sound cost knowledge
Ability to analyze and illustrate results for decision-making and assertive in achieving deadlines and securing deliverables
Experience in the automotive industry, knowledge of markets and supply chains, and as a Cost Engineer is an advantage
Organized and disciplined combined with analytical skills
Ability to cooperate with cross-functional teams
Confident in German and English business discussions
Tasks
Develop holistic systematic approaches (processes, methods, calculation tools, knowledge) to reduce cost for tools and fixtures (e. g. stamping, forming, die casting, injection moulding)
Preparation of Should Cost Calculations for complex tools and fixtures and analysis of supplier offers
Support Should Costings for components
Perform cost structure analyses, Should Costings, and feasibility studies based on technology scouting, benchmarking, value analysis, etc.
Lead and support cost discussions with R&D, procurement, external partners, customers, and suppliers based on your deep technical understanding and derive solutions and recommendations, contribute to tool optimized design of components
Organize and monitor cross-functional reviews and workshops to ensure progress and implementation of cost down initiatives
Advocate your costings and insights and represent it vis á vis R&D, procurement, and tool engineering in internal bodies
Maintain and develop our knowledge domain regarding production technology and costing
