We are searching for a research scientist (m/f/diverse) to join our artificial intelligence (AI) team in Berlin. As part of the central pre-development department, our goal is to develop and enable the use of AI in future Continental products. You will work in an innovative team of specialists and students with the goal of a Ph.D. In this thesis you are going to develop a method for evaluation of high performance hardware accelerators (e.g. neuromorphic) for advanced functions of artificial intelligence in modern, server-oriented E/E architectures. For this purpose, you will use benchmarks for evaluating complex representative workload from practical applications. Part of the thesis is to provide an exemplary safety argumentation for an AI component on system, software, and hardware level. This includes an assessment of possible reasoning approaches, collection of AI-specific safety concerns, derivation of safety requirements, development of detailed argumentation trees, and propositions for all requirements and assignment of methods of proof.
